Last summer I received a grant from the "Teachers as Artists" program and travelled across the country by train to Ghost Ranch in New Mexico where I painted the landscape of Georgia O'keefe. I then continued across the country. I travelled to Phoenix AZ and then onto San Franscisco and finally to Yosemite National Park. In Yosemite I had the chance to explore, paint and photograph the landscape that the painter Albert Beirstadt idealized in oils helping create the" lure of the West." In 2003 I received a " Fund for Teacher's Grant" and travelled to Tahiti to chase after the painter Paul Gauguin. I lived on a boat for 3 weeks The Arunuii and explored the rarely visited Marquesas Islands. You will find work from both these amazing adventures on this site.
